Chapecoense
footballer Helio Neto, who was among the only 6 survivors in the plane
crash which killed 72, was reading the Bible about being safe in the shadow
of God’s wings moments before the crash.
The
bible was found at the scene of the crash by a journalist Roberto Cabrini with
a note and name inside showing that it belongs to the Brazilian footballer.
The bible’s bookmark had been inserted next to Psalms 63, a psalm of David when he was in the desert of Judah.

Psalms
63:6-10 reads;
On my bed I remember you;
I think of you through the watches of the night. Because you are my help,
I sing in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you;
your right hand upholds me.

Those who want to kill me will be destroyed;
they will go down to the depths of the earth. They will be given over to the sword
and become food for jackals.

His wife describes Neto as a Christian who has a lot of faith in God and takes the bible with him wherever
and whenever he travels.
She also told the press how her
husband had told her on the morning of the flight that he had had a dream that
the plane had crashed.
''It's the first thing he takes when
he travels, and here are his annotations, I'm very grateful to have it back.''
Said the wife as she was being handed over the bible.
