“Why
do Kenyans turn up in multitude calling themselves friends of one who is dead,
when they aren't there when they were alive?” That’s the question posed by the flamboyant
lawyer Donald B. Kipkorir.
It was after
the death of a Kenyan Afro Jazz singer Achieng Abura that the controversial Kenyan
lawyer took to Facebook to hit out at Kenyans for being hypocrites. He claims
that while the singer was alive, she needed help from Kenyans; yet they could
not help her raise the millions that was required to treat her son who was
suffering from sickle cell anemia.
This is the
bitter truth that the lawyer posted oh his Facebook account and which has now attracted
over 2k share and 1k comments.
“Today,
Achieng' Abura left us. In her death, do we see the hypocrisy of Kenyans?
Suddenly, everyone on social media is claiming they were friends with her.
Yet
in her interview in the Business Daily of July 7 ( my birthday) , she told
Jackson Biko (Bikozulu) that she had been struggling for over five years in
vain to raise money to take her son to England for treatment of his sickle cell
anemia. That in one "successful" fund raiser, less than ten people turned up.
Like we always
do, she will now be praised by all, and thousands will turn up in a requiem
mass and then the funeral. The body may even be moved from KNH where she has
died to Lee Funeral Home. In death, her body will receive more money and
friends than she received when alive.
Why do Kenyans
turn up in multitude calling themselves friends of one who is dead, when they
aren't there when they were alive?
My true
friends know me: I stand by my friends when alive. I will never claim to be a
friend of someone when dead when I wasn't there for them when they were alive
and suffering.
Hypocrisy of
Kenyans ought to end, and must end. If you didn't support someone when alive,
don't claim them when dead.
RIP Achieng'
Abura. Am sorry, I never knew you when alive. Our paths never crossed. But will
extend support to your son to raise the medical bill for his treatment.
PS. East
Breweries Limited with all the Billions they make couldn't give her the meagre
Kshs. 12million after she did all the Tusker Fame Projects? And they claim to
be good corporate citizen!”
It is not
the first time tho that Kenyans are being acused of the same.
During one
of his campaigns, US presidential candidate DONALD TRUMP also lashed out at
Kenyans and their leaders for being hypocrites.
“These people (Kenyans) are the silliest and biggest
hypocrites in the world. What happened when a mall in Nairobi was under siege,
then university somewhere near Alshabab headquarters of Somali? Did Kenyans
themselves kill social media with their national flags like they are stupidly
doing now with French flags? Is it that their education system is breeding
idiots or they are just bunch lazy thinkers that’s why they are rushing to make
blandish statements at France hoping to get some aid to steal like they do in
their country which is becoming a criminals republic?”
“Curiously, same Kenyans were silent when over 300
school girls were kidnapped in Nigeria by the blood lusting Boko Haram, they
were silent when a genocide was happening in C.A.R, silent when over 1000
African migrants drowned in Mediterranean Sea—these people are con men”
Trump said while referring to Kenyans.
Kenyans please, where did the rain start beating us? I think we need to change!
That's the bitter truth about us, thanks to Donald B. Kipkorir!!!
