A man died
on the spot when he was hit by a vehicle in which Bomet Governor Isaack Rutto
was travelling in along Mai Mahiu – Suswa road.
Rutto shared
the unfortunate incident on Twitter and condoled with the bereaved family. The
man had alighted from a matatu that was wrongly parked and was trying to cross
the road when the governor’s car which was trying to overtake the matatu, hit
him. The matatu fled immediately after the accident and could not be traced.
The
governor, his driver and other occupants escaped unhurt.
The governor
contacted Mai Mahiu police who arrived at the scene and are investigating the matter
as well as searching for the matatu.
"I am sorry for the loss of life and may God comfort the family of the man who died" Rutto tweeted.
Pole bwana governor and pole to the bereaved family.
